Leadership Opportunity in Morocco's Energy Sector

The Ministry of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development - Energy Transition Department announces the reopening of applications for three leadership positions, as part of strengthening the administrative structure and supporting the energy transition underway in the Kingdom. This opportunity targets qualified competencies among permanent and contractual civil servants working in various state administrations and territorial communities, who aspire to assume leadership responsibilities in a vital field for Morocco's energy future.

Details of Announced Positions

The positions open for applications include a range of leadership functions in different department administrations. Candidates can apply for division head or service head positions according to their qualifications and experiences. These positions cover several areas including the National Laboratory of Energy and Mines, documentation and digital archiving, infrastructure monitoring, electricity distribution and market, electricity transmission and interconnection, gas usage development, as well as IT maintenance and equipment.

Essential Application Conditions

The ministry has established clear criteria for application, differing between division head and service head positions. For division heads, the candidate must be ranked at least at the second-class attaché grade or within the state engineer framework, or in an equivalent index grade. They must also hold a diploma allowing access to third-class attaché grade, with at least four years of experience for permanent staff or five years for contractual staff. The requirement of having served as service head may be waived if service necessity requires it.

For service heads, the same ranking conditions apply with at least two years of experience for permanent staff or three years for contractual staff. Permanent and contractual civil servants ranked at third-class attaché grade or equivalent may also apply if they have seniority of at least fifteen years, including four years minimum in the mentioned grade.

Application Procedure and Required Documents

Candidates must submit a complete file including a signed handwritten application, detailed curriculum vitae, proposed work program for managing the concerned administrative unit, as well as approval from their administration with the direct supervisor's opinion on professional competence. Copies of university diplomas and supporting documents for conditions must be attached. The application form can be downloaded from the ministry's website or the public employment portal.

Files must be sent in six paper copies accompanied by a recent photograph and a digital copy on electronic media to the Directorate of Administrative Affairs and Information Systems, no later than April 13, 2026 at 4:30 PM, during administrative hours.

Selection Process and Appointment

A commission designated by the minister will proceed with selecting files meeting the conditions, followed by a selection interview for qualified candidates. The successful candidate will be appointed by decision of the Minister of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development, noting that the exam date will be announced later.
