Job Opportunity: Tugboat Master (Patron de remorqueur) at Marsa Maroc – Laayoune

Marsa Maroc, the national leader in port terminal management operating 35 terminals across 21 ports, is recruiting 1 Tugboat Master (Patron de remorqueur) for its Operations Department at the Port of Laâyoune. This is a contract-based recruitment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute towing and assistance/salvage operations.
  • Manage and master various bridge equipment.
  • Assist vessels in distress and rescue human lives at sea.
  • Ensure safety and security of the vessel and crew.
  • Ensure proper functioning of onboard equipment.

Required Profile

  • Nationality: Moroccan.
  • Age: Under 45 years as of the application deadline (July 28, 2026).
  • Education: At least a high school diploma (Baccalaureate).
  • Maritime Certificates & Experience: One of the following:
    • Fishing Captain Certificate with at least 12 months experience as captain or master on board seagoing fishing, towing, or dredging vessels with gross tonnage ≥ 150.
    • Ship Captain Certificate for vessels under 500 GT with at least 18 months experience as chief mate on board seagoing fishing, towing, or dredging vessels with gross tonnage ≥ 150.
  • STCW Certificates required:
    • Basic Safety Training.
    • Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats (PSCRB).
    • Advanced Fire Fighting.
    • Medical First Aid.
    • Security Awareness.
    • Bridge Resource Management (BRM).
    • ARPA Radar.
    • Electronic Chart Display and Information System (ECDIS).
    • General Operator Certificate for GMDSS.

Personal Skills

Autonomous, rigorous, self-confident, stress-resistant, able to assess situations and handle emergencies. Strong commitment, team spirit, and proactive attitude.
