As part of strengthening the teams responsible for prudential supervision, regulatory framework, and risk assessment in the banking sector, Bank Al-Maghrib is recruiting a Banking Accounting Standards Specialist for its Banking Supervision Directorate. This position is based at the Competence Training Center (CFC) in Casablanca.

Mission and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Banking Supervision Directorate, your mission is to conduct studies related to banking accounting standardization and contribute to the development of related regulatory texts. Key responsibilities include:

• Participating in the development and updating of the accounting regulatory framework applicable to credit institutions.
• Analyzing and resolving complex accounting issues identified during control and supervision missions.
• Responding to consultation requests from sector stakeholders on accounting and regulatory matters.
• Conducting active and structured monitoring of developments in international accounting standards, particularly IFRS and AAOIFI, and their impact on the banking sector.
• Monitoring tax developments affecting credit institutions and their accounting treatments.

Required Qualifications

Applicants must hold a higher education diploma in accounting (e.g., Chartered Accountant, Master’s degree, or equivalent) and have at least 2 years of experience in accounting audit or statutory auditing with credit institutions.

Skills and qualities:

• Strong mastery of accounting concepts and techniques.
• Good knowledge of taxation.
• Good knowledge of IFRS and AAOIFI standards.
• Good understanding of the banking environment and credit institution activities.
• Knowledge of banking mechanisms.
• Analytical and synthesis skills.
• Excellent writing and communication skills (English preferred).
• Rigor and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a team.
