Job Opportunity: Marine Chief Engineer at Marsa Maroc

Marsa Maroc, the national leader in port terminal management, is announcing a competition to recruit a Marine Chief Engineer (Chef mécanicien engin flottant). This position, available in the Souss-Massa region, is part of a contract recruitment process and represents a unique opportunity for qualified maritime mechanics professionals.

Position Overview

The role is based at the Port of Agadir, under the Operations Directorate. It aims to strengthen the company's technical team, with a particular focus on the safe maintenance and operation of floating equipment. The competition code is C40914/26, and the application deadline is February 27, 2026.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Ensuring the operation, maintenance, and repair of various machine installations and auxiliary bridge equipment under optimal safety and reliability conditions.
  • Managing insurance files properly: reporting damages in a timely manner, writing reports, consulting maritime experts, carrying out necessary repairs, and providing invoices for parts and labor.
  • Monitoring repair work during technical stoppages.
  • Managing the stock of fuels, lubricants, dispersants, and emulsifiers.

Required Profile and Qualifications

To apply, candidates must meet the following conditions:

  • Hold a high school diploma (baccalaureate).
  • Possess a 2nd Class Engineer Officer license, with at least 12 months of experience as a chief engineer on board deep-sea fishing, towing, or dredging vessels.
  • Or possess a 3rd Class Engineer Officer license, with at least 48 months of experience in the same role.
  • Be under 45 years of age at the application deadline.
  • Be of Moroccan nationality.

Mandatory Additional Certificates

In addition to the main license, possession of certificates compliant with the STCW convention is required:

  • Basic Safety Training Certificate.
  • Security Awareness Training Certificate.
  • Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats Certificate (other than fast rescue boats).
  • First Aid and Medical Care Certificate.
  • Advanced Fire Fighting Certificate.

Holding an engineer officer license for ships with a motor power equal to or less than 3000kw is considered an additional asset.
