Mission and Key Responsibilities

The appointed candidate will report to the Monetary Operations and Foreign Exchange Directorate and be responsible for managing the risks of the Bank's portfolios, particularly within the framework of foreign exchange reserves management and monetary policy implementation. Responsibilities include:

  • Identifying and quantifying risk factors associated with foreign exchange reserves management and monetary operations.
  • Developing advanced quantitative models and tools for calculating and monitoring risk and performance indicators.
  • Contributing to the strategic asset allocation process.
  • Ensuring market operations comply with existing management rules and regulations.
  • Valuing assets comprising the Bank's portfolios (foreign exchange reserves and monetary policy instruments).
  • Proposing improvements to risk management processes and methodologies.
  • Preparing detailed periodic reports for senior management and governance bodies.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Candidates must meet the following conditions:

  • A Master's degree (Bac+5 equivalent) from a top engineering school or equivalent higher education institution.
  • A specialized Master's in financial or statistical modeling is preferred.
  • At least 3 years of professional experience in a similar market risk management role.
  • Possession of professional certifications such as FRM (Financial Risk Manager) or CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) is a significant advantage.

Skills and Personal Qualities

  • Strong knowledge of financial markets and traded instruments.
  • Advanced proficiency in financial mathematics and applied statistics.
  • Experience in using market and credit risk management techniques and tools.
  • Proficiency in statistical tools and programming languages like VBA, C++, R, Python.
  • Excellent analytical and synthesis abilities, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Very good command of English, both spoken and written.
