Greaser Position at Marsa Maroc

Marsa Maroc, the national leader in port terminal management, is seeking applications for a greaser position within the Operations Directorate at Mohammedia Port. This professional opportunity is designed for experienced maritime maintenance specialists looking to join a dynamic team in Morocco's growing logistics sector.

Primary Responsibilities of the Greaser

The successful candidate will be responsible for various technical and operational tasks ensuring equipment functionality and safety in the maritime environment. Key duties include:

  • Monitoring machinery and operating parameters during port or offshore maneuvers
  • Performing greasing and lubrication of various machines
  • Executing maintenance and repair work on equipment
  • Participating in deckhand operations on vessel decks
  • Contributing to cleaning and sanitation of machinery, decks, and passageways
  • Assisting in scraping and painting tasks for machinery and decks
  • Reporting any observed anomalies to the chief engineer
  • Organizing and cleaning tools and equipment after each maintenance intervention
  • Participating in port or offshore towing operations while adhering to safety regulations

Required Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must meet the following criteria to be considered for this position:

  • Holder of a Maritime Professional Qualification Certificate: Machinery Option
  • Minimum 24 months of navigation experience as a greaser aboard commercial, towing, dredging, or fishing vessels
  • Age under 40 years at the offer expiration date
  • Experience boarding service equipment or commercial vessels would be particularly valued

Mandatory Certifications

Candidates must possess the following certificates in accordance with STCW convention requirements:

  • Basic Safety Training Certificate according to STCW Convention Regulation VI/1 as amended
  • TSS Safety Certificate
  • Non-rapid Rescue Boat Certificate (CSNR) according to STCW Regulation VI.2.1 as amended
  • Watchkeeping Greaser Qualification Certificate as part of an engine room team according to STCW Regulation III/4 as amended

Personal and Professional Skills

We are looking for a rigorous, safety-oriented candidate capable of handling emergency situations effectively. Strong practical skills in operating deck equipment and machinery installations are essential, along with knowledge of vessel mooring plans in the port, maritime terminology, and occupational health and safety regulations.
