Position Overview

The Chief Accountant role presents a unique chance for accounting professionals to advance their careers within Morocco's public transport sector. This is a single-position opportunity (only one vacancy available) offering strategic visibility within the organization. The successful candidate will report directly to the Finance and Management Control Director, with responsibilities spanning all aspects of financial management.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

The Chief Accountant will be responsible for critical functions ensuring the company's financial integrity:

• Supervision and control of accounting and financial data
• Preparation of semi-annual and annual financial statements
• Validation of account analyses and monthly bank reconciliations
• Preparation of periodic and annual tax declarations in compliance with Moroccan tax law
• Development of annual accounting and tax packages
• Monitoring compliance with financial, tax, and regulatory obligations
• Management of account closing procedures and provisions
• Oversight of fixed asset files and supplier payment controls
• Revenue consolidation validation and project cost calculations
• Depreciation calculations and external debt amortization tracking
• Coordination with the Board of Directors and Auditors

Required Qualifications and Experience

Ideal candidates must meet the following requirements:

• Bachelor's degree +5 in Accounting or equivalent field
• Minimum 12 years of professional experience in a similar position
• Advanced knowledge of Moroccan accounting and tax regulations
• Strong skills in general and analytical accounting
• Thorough understanding of the Moroccan accounting plan
• Ability to validate accounting entries and analyze accounts with precision
• Strict adherence to professional confidentiality and ethics
