Bank Al-Maghrib, the central bank of the Kingdom of Morocco, is recruiting 2 green finance officers to strengthen its Banking Supervision Directorate. This position is based in Casablanca Finance City and offers a unique chance to contribute to sustainable finance initiatives in Morocco's financial sector. Key Responsibilities and Duties

The selected candidates will undertake critical tasks to advance green finance supervision:

  • Conduct studies and monitor developments in sustainable finance and environmental risk management within the banking sector.
  • Contribute to establishing regulatory and supervisory frameworks for green finance and environmental risks faced by credit institutions.
  • Assess financial risks related to climate and environmental factors impacting the banking industry and track mitigation measures.
  • Support the implementation of actions from the roadmap to align Morocco's financial sector with sustainable development goals.
  • Participate in internal projects at Bank Al-Maghrib and collaborative initiatives with stakeholders to promote green finance.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Hold a master's degree or equivalent (bac+5) in a relevant field.
  • Have at least 2 years of professional experience in a similar or related role, preferably in the financial, banking, or consulting sectors.
  • Proficiency in English is highly desirable for this position.

Essential Skills and Competencies

Ideal candidates should demonstrate the following abilities:

  • Strong understanding of the banking environment and its operations.
  • Good knowledge of regulatory standards, including BAM regulations and Basel Committee norms.
  • Awareness of challenges related to financing the energy transition and greening the financial system.
  • Solid expertise in risk management, particularly climate risks and their impact on finance.
  • Analytical and synthesis skills to handle complex information effectively.
  • Excellent written and oral communication capabilities.
