The Royal Society for the Encouragement of Horses (SOREC) is recruiting a sound technician for its office in Rabat. This contract-based position is available for one candidate with expertise in audiovisual, sound, and digital technologies.

SOREC is a public entity under the supervision of the Ministry of Agriculture and Maritime Fishing, serving as a key player in Morocco's equine sector for over a century. Its missions include overseeing horse breeding, improving equine breeds, developing horse racing, and managing national games. With approximately 600 employees, SOREC works to preserve and promote the Kingdom's equestrian traditions, contributing to Morocco's international reputation in areas ranging from sports to craftsmanship.

Responsibilities of the Sound Technician

Reporting to the racetrack production manager, the sound technician will handle the following tasks:

  • Reading scripts based on sound recordings and ensuring artistic and technical aspects of audio productions.
  • Preparing and installing audio equipment such as microphones, consoles, and speakers according to production needs.
  • Mastering technical fields of sound including physics, electronics, acoustics, and digital technologies.
  • Operating sound capture, mixing, and recording tools like mixers and consoles.
  • Ensuring real-time mixing during live broadcasts, balancing sources and coordinating with video control rooms.
  • Managing intercom systems and audio coordination among team members.
  • Performing audio post-production tasks such as track cleaning, synchronization with images, and final mastering.

Required Qualifications and Skills

The ideal candidate should have:

  • A Bac+2/3 degree in audiovisual, sound, or digital fields, with 2 to 5 years of experience in live or studio sound engineering.
  • Proficiency in digital consoles and good knowledge of professional audio equipment.
  • Strong skills in audio processing software, acoustics, and audio cabling.
  • Ability to interpret technical sheets and stage plans, with precision in technical installations.
  • Capacity to handle stress in live conditions, along with organizational and communication skills.
