Gas Movement, Measurement and Quality Engineer Position at OMCo

OMCo announces the opening of applications for a position as an engineer specialized in gas movement, measurement and quality, as part of its human capital strengthening policy. This strategic position requires a candidate with 2 to 5 years of experience in a similar field, with specific conditions to be met.

General Position Information

The workplace is located at OMCo's Tangier site, where the engineer will be responsible for monitoring measurement and control systems, ensuring gas quality, and producing periodic reports. Key responsibilities include planning gas movement on the network, analyzing deviations, performing calibration and maintenance operations on equipment, and preparing daily, monthly, and annual balances.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Plan and monitor gas movement on the network and analyze deviations
  • Supervise metering and measurement systems and ensure data reliability
  • Perform calibration, verification and maintenance operations on measurement equipment
  • Conduct gas movement simulations under different conditions
  • Handle measurement anomalies and propose corrective actions
  • Monitor gas quality parameters such as calorific value, composition, humidity
  • Prepare daily, monthly and annual balance reports
  • Contribute to improving procedures and monitoring tools
  • Participate in internal and external audits
  • Apply HSE rules and integrated management system procedures
  • Participate in managing emergency situations related to gas movement or quality
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and normative requirements

Required Qualifications

The candidate must be a graduate of a major engineering school (Bac+5) in specialties such as process engineering, industrial, energy, mechanical/fluids, or equivalent. They must be of Moroccan nationality, aged 45 maximum, with possible consideration of applications from older candidates demonstrating unique expertise. Additionally, they must not have been convicted of a criminal offense or compensated by a public administration in the context of voluntary departure.

Skills and Experience

  • 2 to 5 years of experience in a similar position or in energy network operations
  • Good knowledge of unit operations, thermodynamics, heat transfer
  • Advanced mastery of Excel, VBA/macros, and information systems
  • Perfect command of French and English in writing and speaking
  • Analytical and synthesis skills, and initiative
  • Availability for on-call duties or interventions outside normal hours
