The Moroccan Tourism Engineering Company (SMIT) is seeking a qualified professional for the position of Department Head for Sites and Sustainable Development. This senior role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to Morocco's growing tourism sector while promoting sustainable development practices. The position is based in Rabat and requires extensive experience in land management and legal affairs.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following key areas:

  • Organizing and managing the identification and analysis of tourism-oriented sites while considering sustainable development principles
  • Supervising boundary demarcation and mapping of selected sites and lands
  • Managing land clearance, registration, and mobilization operations for tourism development
  • Coordinating with public entities and landowners regarding land mobilization
  • Monitoring litigation processes for disputed projects
  • Identifying land acquisition opportunities
  • Managing the land aspect of the company's e-products
  • Developing operational support mechanisms for tourism ecosystem investment

Required Qualifications and Skills

The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications:

  • Engineering degree in Topography or Surveying from a recognized engineering school
  • Minimum 12 years of experience in land, legal, and partnership fields
  • Fluency in Arabic, French, and English (both written and spoken)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to supervise technical, planning, and environmental studies
  • Experience in managing litigation cases
  • Thorough understanding of regulatory and procedural aspects
  • Knowledge of public sector and tourism industry
