Mission and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Information Systems Department, your mission is to ensure the operational availability of database management systems and guarantee their proper functioning according to quality and security standards. Key activities include:
- Installing, configuring, administering, and maintaining databases (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, …).
- Implementing, configuring, and managing high-availability solutions such as Oracle RAC, Oracle Data Guard, and SQL Server Always On.
- Monitoring, optimizing performance, and tuning databases.
- Designing and implementing backup and recovery strategies.
- Assisting development teams in integrating data management best practices.
- Ensuring database integration with J2EE middleware architectures.
- Diagnosing and resolving incidents, providing level 2/3 support.
- Writing and maintaining technical documentation (operating procedures, architectures, standards).
- Keeping up with technological developments in DBMS.
Required Qualifications
- Higher education degree (doctorate, engineering degree, master's or equivalent).
- At least 2 years of professional experience in a similar role, ideally in a large organization.
- Mastery of database administration technologies and tools.
- Proficiency in Oracle Database, Microsoft SQL Server, and PostgreSQL DBMS.
- Mastery of backup and recovery tools.
- Mastery of high-availability database solutions.
- Good knowledge of J2EE middleware architectures and their interactions with databases.
- Knowledge of Unix/Linux and Windows Server environments.
- Understanding of computer networking fundamentals.
- Strong communication skills, analytical and synthesis skills, interpersonal skills, and good listening skills.
